Greetings young professional and rising leader!
Today I’d like to share an inspirational clip with you from ESPN.com’s video series, Outside the Lines. The clip is the touching story of Jake Olson, a cancer surviving young teen who has lost sight in both his eyes, but has out of sight faith in his ability to still live life to the fullest!
As Jake says in regards to playing football without sight, “I just wanted to find a way…”
As a young professional and rising leader, the life and leadership lessons within this clip are truly inspirational. Leaders just find a way to make things happen. They turn negatives into positives. They defy the odds. And when many have their heads down, leaders most always keep their heads up.
Take a few moments now to view Jake’s story. After you watch this clip, think of just how fortunate you are in life. Think of how you are going to “just find a way” to make something meaningful and valuable happen. Think of how you are going to turn a negative into a positive. Think of how you are going to defy the odds, keep your head high, and most importantly, think of your ability of lead –yourself and others.
Remember, faith about trusting and believing in the things that you cannot see. The next time you begin to lose faith, remember Jake and how though cancer took his eyesight, his vision of living a full and happy life remains in tact through it all!
Until next time, remember NOW is the time, to Take Ownership, Take Charge, and Take YOUR CAREER To The Next Level!
See YOU at the top,
Coach Al Johnson
